Aretha Franklin's body arrives in gold-plated casket to lie in state
The body of Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, has arrived in Detroit to begin lying in state as thousands of fans gather for a final goodbye. Just as she always did, Aretha Franklin arrived in style. Aretha Franklin was a global superstar whose voice will be remembered the world over, but she never forgot her hometown roots. Embroidered in the lining of her casket in gold thread were the words: "Aretha Franklin, The Queen of Soul". He said the casket where Franklin rests is 24-karat gold plated.
